Apply for course funding

The EOS now invites applications from ophthalmology registrars working in South-East Scotland. Funding can be applied for training courses and attending conferences.

FOCUS course 2023

The acclaimed FOCUS course was held in November 2023 to great success. Well done to the whole teaching team, and we look forward to hearing plans for the 2024 course.

Laser Simulation course 2023

The fourth running of this innovative simulation course took place in October 2023. Once again, a terrific faculty of trainers imparted the lucky participants with the practical guidance and wisdom on becoming masters of ophthalmic lasers.

Our Story

The Edinburgh Ophthalmology Society was established in 2020, with the aim to promote and support ophthalmology education and training in Edinburgh, including the provision of organisation and sponsorship for educational events.

The home for the Society is the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion - a dedicated eye hospital in Edinburgh, providing ophthalmology services to South-East Scotland.
